TBH, not exactly sure what use a terra tank build is in AB. As it's generally defensive, you are just going to be an annoyance to:-
Your own team, as you can't really do much apart from stand around and take rather than deal damage,
and
The opposition who are stupid enough to try and kill you, (and eventually will). However most of them will just ignore you.

Terra tank in ab fails. Massive health dege and stripping enchantments and you're useless.

Actually you'd be quite surprised. Tanking works very well during the double noob weekends from what I've seen (no I don't do it myself). Groups of wammos will wail on single Defy Pain warriors for several minutes and then die. Since Defy Pain doesn't really require excessive external attribute requirement, you can still deal out a decent amount of damage.
The specific terra tank, however, is a bit fragile. Touch rangers, interrupters, degen (W/Me and R/Me carry Conjure Phantasm)

I was a terra for a while during this event. Works great indeed for most foes, since they mostly attack you with assasin, elementalist with breath of fire. Sliver armor deals great damage back to them. There was a n00b group attacking me last time with 2 warrios and 2 assasin. Killed them all on my own.
But this build is very weak against: Rangers, Mesmer AND Necromancers (Also paragon could defeat you). Ranger can daze you, Mesmer and necro's gives you lots of degenerations, conditions and degenerations. Paragon can burn you till death.

If I ever see you tanking in Alliance Battles I'll shatter your ass.
And if you're on my side I'll instruct the Kurzicks to do same. Better 11 players than 11 + 1 "tank".
Seriously. Terra Tanks in AB are bad. Good players on the other team will ignore you, meaning you're useless. Try running around and capping shrines instead.

It may work once or twice, but in the long run all tanks in ab are crap.

There's nothing wrong with having some survivability, be it a damage reduction or a heal skill. Sometimes I'll run a E/Me build with Stoneflesh and Sliver, but I'll also run Sandstorm, Eruption and at least one other damage skill (even Stone Daggers, especially if I'm using Glyph of Restoration) add in Earth Attunement and say Mantra of Resolve/Power Drain/Web of Disruption and you have something that will surprise melee chars, piss off ranger interrupters and can still do decent AoE for capping.
Full Terra - no thx

I near enough always run a earth build in AB I always find when im doing my own builds for AB is that i remove as many non offensive skills as i can while still maintaining some level of survivability, after all how can you cap a shrine if you got 8 non offensive skills! I normally have around 2 or 3 defensive/self heal skills in my bar and rest is there to cap and kill! Plenty of people above have made the same point, going terra tank wont work that well, few degen and interrupts and your in trouble.

O RLY?
Anyways, I don't think terra tanks work at all in any form of PvP. Gee boy, they don't even work half the time in PvE!
